Skin Health-Made Visible

Side-by-side viewing of surface and subsurface aspects of the skin.

Cross-polarized light penetrates the stratum corneum, into the epidermis showing color, pigment and vascularity more clearly. Parallel-polarized light scatters off the surface layers, enhancing visibility of wrinkles, pores, and scars.

This layer-based approach to skin viewing means that both aspects can be visualized simultaneously.

Patent pending split polarized light viewing and photography system

Using a combination of linear and circular polarizers allows for a split viewing and imaging system. Half of the field shows the surface features, while the other half shows the deeper color and subsurface aspects.

All skin types I-VI all can benefit from examination with polarized light examination.

Surface Features on Stratum Corneum: wrinkles, pitting, scars, pores, xerosis, seborrheic keratosis

Subsurface Features in Epidermis and Dermis: color, pigment, vascularity, bruising, vitiligo, lentigo
